The core concept: It’s got everything those classic fairytales we grew up with didn’t have! Instead of only focusing on the handsome and successful prince (James Franco), we get to see the lazy, underachieving sibling (Danny McBride) trying to man up and prove himself. And really, whether we want to admit it or not, haven’t we all at one point or another felt like we could identify with Thadeouses more so than the Fabiouses of the world?
How it leads to The End: You’ve got Franco and McBride teaming up in both This is the End and Your Highness. That, my friends, can only mean good things. This is the second time the pair worked together with director David Gordon Green, the first time being Pineapple Express, along with Seth Rogen. Green also directed episodes of TV’s Eastbound & Down (McBride’s true claim to fame), and then, subsequently, The Sitter (with another End co-star Jonah Hill).
Memorable scene: This is hard to pinpoint, as there are many. So, I’ll pick one at random. Fabious getting bitten by a snake!
