The core concept: This may be one of the funniest television series that I have seen in a long time. It’s well-written, it appeals to a wide audience, and there is not one episode in which you do not laugh out loud. Mind you, the humour does depend on a lot of crassness, but who doesn’t want to let out that steam once in a while? And if you can’t, Kenny Powers can most definitely do it for you.
How it leads to The End: The most obvious way that these two are connected are with Mr. Danny McBride, who is also a writer on the show. But Eastbound also has the uncanny ability to just slide guest stars (including End co-star Craig Robinson, who has a recurring role) and celebrities into its show, much in the same way that This is the End seems to have everyone and their figurative mother in it.
Memorable scene: You can literally pick any scene and it is the funniest scene. Although, I’m pretty sure the pitching showdown goes down as one of the funniest/most liked scenes by the fans of the show. (See below!)
Survival kit status: Oh God, yes. Without question. This show has sentimental value on two levels (I’ve watched it with my family and with a very close group of friends) and if it were actually the end of the world, I would want to have it with me, just so we all had something to laugh at together.[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OW_EUDGp88]
